Breast Augmentation???

"don't they just get in the way"

Ask a woman that had one or both removed because of breast cancer that question.

what does having a breast removed due to breast cancer have to do with my question?

Shak -

In the same way that you are happy with what you have, the other extremes are getting bigger or getting them removed. In most cases it is a personal choice and you can't really answer the question in a way to someone who doesn't see it as an issue. Technology makes it a viable option to consider and some people consider it something that they want. I would agree that if you are going to go that route, you need to be realistic about what you expect out of it and also be aware of the risks & responsibilities related to it.

To answer your question, well sometimes they get in the way, but generally no.

I think w6's comment is saying some people would be very happy to have the problem of boobs getting in the way, if their reality is they have none.

i have a question - how come you guys have had implants at all?
what are the benefits of having bigger boobs? is it just to keep them from sagging or what?

i've been a 34A since i was 12 and i've never once wished for bigger breasts. in fact, if my boobs get permanently bigger with pregnancy, i'll be super upset. i can't see why anyone would want big breasts??? don't they just get in the way?

i certainly agree that people should do what makes them happy, but i really don't get this implant thing...can anyone explain?

and please don't think i'm getting down on anyone...i'm not!!! i just really don't understand what the attraction is??

I've always had large breasts naturally & still do even tho I'm trying to lose BF -- still a D cup -- but due to this I also have sagging. I've considered getting a lift which would also require implants so I don't lose size.

Since I have a "curvy" figure having the boobs makes me look more proportionate -- my hips are wide & if I had small boobs my hips would look huge!! Plus, the breastages make me personally feel more feminine. They don't hurt my back or anything else & dont' really get in the way at all. The sagginess tho does bother me a lot.

I've gone from a small D to a small B just from one child. I also have wide hips, so now that I'm a B, (and look completely flat in a sports bra!) I feel like I've gone from looking like an hourglass to a coke bottle!

It's just that....everyone has different things that make them happy. You are happy with smaller, others are happy with larger. We all have different ideas of what we want, which is they beauty of the world....we are all different.

Well, you don't have to worry about your boobs getting permanently bigger with pregnancy...unless you're just bigger all over.

You WILL probably have to deal with them getting smaller, or at least a whole lot less perky.

I still wonder if I'll end up getting a reconstruction (I'm put off by the pain and the possibility of scars). I don't think I'll get implants, just because of breast-cancer concerns. I've already had a lump, mammography, and needle biopsy done. It's a scary process that took a month or more to resolve. And I had all that time to prepare for the worst. So I know that I don't want to do anything that would make it harder to arrive at an early diagnosis.

I tend to be a little paranoid, you know.

But as to the WHY this is a popular choice among bodybuilders...

There's the issue of losing all that body fat and building up a muscularity that heretofore has been available only to very hard-working men. If they're competing, they're expected to get hugely muscular with very little bodyfat, with visible vascularity, and yet look feminine. Hair and makeup can only do so much.

Although I don't know much about silicone, saline under the muscle probably looks the same as silicone because the pectoral muscle covers most of the implant. Overs look very round and eye-appealing, but are not necessarily an option to everyone. It really depends on what kind of breasts, size, elasticity, etc she has right now. Under provides more of a lifting appearrance for someone who might need a lift in the somewhat near future. The overs, in some cases, tend to sag more with time, but have a much shorter recovery time. I wanted overs, but my surgeon told me that unders would look best for my breast type.

Silicone feels much more natural than saline.

I'm sorry I'm a little confused on how big you are going.
Size F you said?

thanks for the responses. i've just always wondered why women chose to make their boobs bigger.

"Well, you don't have to worry about your boobs getting permanently bigger with pregnancy...unless you're just bigger all over."

I am totally worried about my boobs getting bigger. My mom's chest became huge after having kids and they never went back to their original size, even when other parts of her body did. I know she's always been self-conscious about it -- I guess this might explain why I never understood the attraction of having bigger breasts.
