Back ache from chest workout?

thx9000

It seems every time I do a chest workout I end-up with some form of back pain the next day. Usually this is just a little achyness, sometimes it's acutal pain. Usually it's my lat's, but sometimes (today) it borders my spine just above the kidneys... This is alway worse when i do DB instead of straight bar work. I think I might be going way to low on the DB worK.

Anyone ever have this?

Maybe your pinching your shoulder blades(I forget the technical name) on your negatives. Go to www.drsquat.com ...fred hatfield wrote an article about proper chest training form(and how to place your back).

Don't worry about the lats. They're actually a big part of benching. But close to your spine ... ? Dunno about that one.

Yeah, I seem to strain the lats a lot, usually right along the flank...

As for the spine: its a good bit above my kidneys and near the spine. I think I might be hyper-extending at the bottom of my DB presses and straining the very low end of my traps.

did you do flys? when i do some deap flys i always feel it in my lats the next day, shit i feel it more than if i worked my back lol..
