I beleive its in the new muscle mag where they show how mentzer taught yates how to do his low volume workouts and yates grew enormously. Menzter had yates doing one set per body part but very intensly...anybody ever put these tactics to use??? how'd they work? thanx

I still highly doubt that Mr. O. Dorian Yates won the Olympia with this type of routine...no matter what Muscle Mag says.

Wiseguy, did it work for you?

I did it for a while. Then progressed to Powerfactor Training, then Static Contraction training, and it gave me very sore joints, and not much of a strength increase and very marginal body size increases. HIT is probably better than not working with weights at all. But if you want to get stronger, it is not the optimal way to go, the conjugate method is, and if you are only interested in hypertrophy, Time Under Tension is the way to go. I wish I would have known about proper training regimen's back when I was wasting time reading those damn Mentzer et al. books and wasting valuable gym time that could have been put to better use.

I know there are more than one way to get bigger and stronger. I have tried many different ways and most did not yeild results proportional to the amount of effort I put into them. For athletes, I think that the conjugate method is the greatest thing since the invention of the barbell. For bodybuilders, making sure the muscle is kept under tension for the appropriate amount of time seems to be key, but I am certainly no expert on this.
