Ugh! Wasn't really in a bad mood or anything & everything was fine till my hubby made a sarcastic remark under his breath in a tone I took as insulting. Now, he makes these under-the breath comments regularly & some are funny some I don't take well, etc. Well, I've mentioned to him before how I don't like some of the comments & mentioned this last night. He started going on about how "unbearable" my personality is during my period, blah blah blah & I just freaked out!! Started running around the house yelling about how that has nothing to do with it, he doesn't listen, etc. Told him I think he thinks I'm stupid, etc

Basically, acted like a complete ass.......[[[[[sigh]]]]] Oh and told him "I can't take it anymore" & threw my wedding rings at him.....

sorry, just had to vent....

Ehhh... I wouldn't worry to much about it. I'm sure he is miserable at his "time of the month," we all know guys have it too. :). Mumbling under the breath is irritating. Ya got something to say, just say it loud. Anyway, what happened then? Did you guys go to bed mad? I hate going to bed mad! If I were you, I might apologize about throwing the rings, but other than that let it pass.

As much as being hormonal sux, I notice I sometimes get so irritable that I can't even figure out why... then i realize, yep. That time o' month. Shit. It sux so much. I usually get depressed & emotional to the point of not being able to come up with a good reason to get out of bed a few days before "it" hits. Sometimes it helps to throw down an aspirin. (Not ibuprofin. Not Tylenol. Just an aspirin.) This isn't really for any cramps or anything, but it sorta helps settle the emotions a little.

Yes it does suck.

I'll have to agree with the other ladies and say that sucks. There's nothing worse than being a mess of raging hormones and freaking out for no reason. I'm naturally somewhat ill-tempered but if my estrogen is up, I am either yelling or crying for no particular reason.

I hope you had a better day today!

You might like Sarafem...I take it about 3 days a month, works great. FYI, many docs try to get you to take it every day, I did not like that....it was overkill. Just about 3 days a month works great for me.

Hey, thanks for your support ladies!!

Only one problem -- since this arguing thing happens every few months or so plus the things I said was pretty bad, my hubby's not real happy. I don't blame him either. So now we need to start looking for a counselor, otherwise we're done....

so, no, my weekend isn't getting any better...and it's my fault...

Hey Jenscats,

I'm sorry to hear about your fiasco. I'm sure things will work themselves out. Good luck with everything. Hope your week gets better ;)

I'm telling you, gingersnap is right - go for the Sarafem a/k/a Prozac!! I get exactly the same way, so depressed that I literally feel like I can't go on, and I can't even pinpoint what's making me feel that way! It's a real shame, because it ends up making it seem like your "crazy" when in reality your only that way for a few days. I get the "here we go again". Well Christ, it's only a few days but it ends up overshadowing the rest of your time. Take the prozac - seriously, it's a pill that works for about a 30 hour duration, you'll feel better mind, body and soul to get you through that time, then your done! About 3 pills should do and your gyn can prescribe them for you. No one even has to know when you take them, keep them in your nightstand and pop it when you need it. Then you'll appear normal everyday of the month :)

Hmmmmmmmm, that's a good idea.....this only seems to happen during my period + alcohol.....so maybe avoid acohol during that time & then try & get a scrip for that stuff.... Any side effects??

For me, everything is perfect EXCEPT there are sexual side effects. Don't bother trying to have an orgasm while your on it. You can do it, but it can take double the time and cause you to get frustrated. I figure, it's a small price to pay. Your only taking the pills for a few days, and each pill (20mg) only lasts about 30 hours then its out of your system. I figure a full day of loving life is more important then the few minutes it takes to have an orgasm! Other than that, I sleep better (I tend to get insomnia that time of the month, probably due to the depression) and I'm not as hungry :) Seriously - you know how you feel at that time - I've actually looked in the mirror and told myself that I'm ugly and gross - then an hour later after the pill has kicked in, looked in the mirror and thought "damn I'm cute!" haha! It's true, it brings you back up to where you should be. I get that way with alcohol too, don't know how to avoid being an angry drunk though. :) I don't know what type of health insurance you have but ask your doctor for the generic. It's a lot cheaper.
