I am on a fairly basic cycle, I work out every other day and take two days off after I have completed my full body work out.

Day One - Chest
Day Three - Biceps/Triceps
Day Four - Legs
Day Six - Shoulders
Day Eight - Back

I do stomach every workout day. I am think of changing my routine to working out every two day, but leaving Biceps/Tris and legs one day after each other. What are your thoughts, as I am just focused on mass building and will be cutting up in the Spring/Summer.

I definately wouldn't go 5 days in a row without taking a day off. I would get burnt out. I would say dont go any more than three days without taking a day off to let your muscles and central nervouse system [cns] recover.

I think it depends on how long you have been lifting. A lot of guys who start lifting start with a three day a week : mon/wed/fri workout that is full body each time - giving only a day inbetween a muscle group.

But then as you get advanced, generally people go into some sort of split which gives more time inbetween body parts. For example, i train a particular body part only once a week.

The idea is, you want to give enough time so that the muscle can recover, however, you DONT want too much time inbetween otherwise the muscle will start to hypotrophy [get smaller].

Here is what i am currently doing:

Monday: Quads / Calves / Abductors
Tuesday: Chest / Biceps
Wednesday: REST
Thursday: Tricps / Back
Friday: Shoulders / Hams / Adductors
Saturday: REST
Sunday: REST
REPEAT---

Also, i try to do some abs in the morning, but generally forget.

Hope i understood the question.
