"The contest is in exactly two weeks time. I weighed myself after two small meals and lots of fluids, post-toilet, with clothes on at 84kg exactly. I need to get down to 82.5kg (lose 3.3 pounds). The weigh-in is at 10am and the competition starts at mid-day. I don't know how I'm going to approach this... Any suggestions???

As for my training, since I should be taking a week off prior to the competition (from what I've read?) I only have a week where I can do stuff. Should I be finding ball-park numbers, practicing technique, or just doing what I would otherwise do...??? I need a rough guide :)"

Any help would be much appreciated.

i would do the following brutha:
- take a week off prior to the competition
- pretty much rest as much as possible and eat!!
- select your attempts(at least 2 of the 3) and be conservative
- if they have an early weigh-in, go to it!! if you weigh in right
early, you can eat and rest up for the competition next day
- take some pics so that we all can see what u did..LOL

Thanks for the advice.

I'm going to have to weigh-in at 10am on the day, 2 hours before the comp starts. I wish it were different, but I've gotta deal with it. I can cover the rest part really well, since I'll have finished the semester and probably won't have a job yet. Unfortunately I won't be able to eat big, but I'll make sure my diet is quality. Anyway, I'm not too bad with that type of thing and have a fair enough idea where I'm heading.

I know a few things:
- I need to practice my bench form. I've always benched touch-and-go and need to get used to the pause... fast.
- I am not going to get much out of a single week's work.

So my basic question is, what can I do this week? I'm thinking that it might be worthwhile working up to some heavy singles in all three lifts - as heavy as my opening attempts. Apart from that, lots of form work in terms of simulating the commands and the like.

I'll definately be taking pictures and hopefully video too :)
