1st day attempt at CKD-need some feedback

CKD vs. Atkins

Many people confuse these.....
The main difference is that Atkins is just low carbs-
and CKD is no carbs...
correct?
 
2nd day was better...but still off

If I recall correctly my numbers were in this ball park...
Cals: 2700
Fat: 200
Pro: 210
Carb: 19

Better, but still way high on the protein. I have read through X'x manual and got the numbers I need...I will recalculate, since I think I screwed those.

Note: I got ketostix and was negative last night an hour after dinner (42g pro, 63g fat, 0g carb).

At any rate I will stay below 2300 cals, 100g pro, and 20g carbs.

Starting over-I am calling today, Friday Aug 17 Day 1.
Day 1 started with:
8:30am
ECA
4 pc bacon
2 eggs
1 diet coke (illusion of sugar...ah)

I am going to try and dial this in and stick with it...previously 4 days is all I could do and I was definitely eating more carbs than now, so if I make it through the weekend I feel I will pull it off.

BTW-can anyone comment on the numbers I have in the post above for BMR..cal, pro, fat, etc? They don't look right. I don't think my brain is functioning correctly...

hey, ,becareful on the diet coke though, because the citric acid knocks some people out of ketosis according to X. Just measure your levels after you drink diet coke to see if it has an effect on you.

I think I got it!!!

Much better today...
My brain really seems fried, so I haven't even crunched those numbers again, they still don't look right...

But today I consider DAY 1 of CKD, cause I was DAMN close to the target.

I have ketostix and use them about an hour after a "suspect meal" or an activity (like a workout) to guage how I am doing.

I am always hungry still, I think with some planning and calculations I will get fulfilling meals figured out while staying within the prescribed parameters. I'll work on optimizing that, especially spreading the nutrients out more evenly.

try switching your brand of pb and go for some natty pb. the 20g carbs you're getting in one sitting is not good for trying to get into ketosis. FWIW, I personally get kicked out of ketosis with 10g carbs in one meal.

thanks, I do have Nat PB, but I was in a tight place...at work with only my reg PB...needed something in my gut for my workout.

FYI-Doing the happy dance, today I had only 10g of carbs and met my protein/fat pretty well!
