who buys frozen chicken breasts?

i buy one 5 pound bag of fresh ones, and a box of 12 frozen breasts. i also like to buy a 5 pound bag of buffalo wings. i also buy a few new york strips.. god damit, i spend like 50 bucks a week on meat alone :)

There are some that are already seasoned and everything (teriaki, BBQ, etc.) that you can buy at Costco and just microwave.

I recently bought some that were not seasoned buy microwavable. It's hard to get them to cook right like it says on the box and you usually have to flip them over.

Foreman grill seems to work alright.

I bought some dirt cheap frozen chicken breast

Looks like they've added 30% water while freezing the meat
and the texture was awful

I've noticed the trend of adding water to chicken breasts as well. I think what a lot of them are doing is to chop up the meat, add water to it, and then reform into the shape of a breast again. I think it's a scam to sell you less actual meat for the same money.

I was buying frozen chicken breast for awhile at a few stores when they were on sale until I noticed what they add to them. In many cases its not just water they add but salt water....the sodium content on some of those things is astronomical. Cant say I never buy them anymore but I try to stay with fresh or frozen without the added salt.

i switch to steak today. usually eat chicken though

I pay less for steaks than chicken breast

Ya Costco has frozen Kirkland brand. Excellent big peices and its a lot of chicken. I get the one seasoned with chicken broth. I just take it right out of the pack and throw it on the foreman grill cause I can't be bothered with defrosting :)
My foreman grill has temp control so I put it at 75% up when cooking it frozen. It obviously takes longer to cook than thawed though so watch out for that.

chicken breast and flank steaks on the george grill
i detest garlic, but chicken marinated in pinaple juice and terriaki is friggin awsome!!!!
