Quick stats, I started out at 340 pounds and am down to 255 since March and im 6 ft tall. Im starting to have some loose skin. Any advice on something to take or some kind of cream? Right now im taking 6000 mg of vit C as it builds colagen. I am also taking a gelatin capsule which also produces colagen which aids in skin tightening. Anything else I can do? Let me know.

I have done allot of research on this on the net myself and like you I think were fucked, sorry!

I was at 283 pds and got down to 167. Nothing hangs and their isn't really visible stretch marks but their is some extra stuff.

first thing I was told by a plastic surgeon is get to a point where you cannot lose any more weight(you may need help from a pro to determine between fat and skin at the end) and stabalize at this weight for atleast 3 months. That should allow things to settle down. Oh and also not to try and lose weight faster than 2lbs/week to give your body more time to adapt.

Otherwise its obvious if you get bigger your skin stretches out. Apparently it isn't an issue of growing and losing skin with weight gain and loss, but it comes down to how far you have stretched out all the fibers of the skin.

So for me and it sounds like you, you might have stretched the skin beyond repair.

if this is the case, and for me Im not sure and am getting treated for a skin infection right now and soon after will try and lose all my weight then go to a pro since im so far from seeing definition in the mid section, then you can only get a full tummy tuck and even then you still may be unhappy with extra skin elsewhere. Lipo is just sucking out some fat thus why those types of patients look better so soon, cause their skin could adapt.

I know that cutting gell is used for tightening the skin but wether it works or not is beyond me....I've never taken it. I've heard of some people using preperation H ( or maybe it was proper pH, but I"m not sure) and rubbing into their skin and then rapping that part of their body with seran (I'm not sure if that's spelled right) wrap. That same thing goes with that, I don't know if it works.....that's just what I've heard. Other than that.....I have no idea.

Just saw this on another board- does NIACIN help with definition- it was said to help with vascularity which relates to definition too...

After lyposuction doctors give you a large wrap, this supposed to tighten your skin. Theres also alot of beauty things about skin wrapping to make you look thinner. It can't hurt anything to try, I did it and lost 2 inchs off my waist for about 4 months but it came back after that.

I think that cutting gel and prep H are used primarily by bodybuilders and guys with normally very low bodyfat. These products, if I understand them correctly, simply help to actually shrink or tighten the skin tissue, primarily by temporarily removing water I would assume.

For a guy like this who's lost a ton of weight and has some loose skin, thes products will be useless. I agree with damac. In cases of dramatic weight losses (Congratulations btw!!), you're gonna need to see a plastic surgeon to get rid of it.
