What is your yearly income in PT field?

pt's are a dime a dozen and most of them dont know their head from their ass. the read their books to pass the exam then preach the garbage thats in them. i know a few. one of them is an x pro wresteler. he is the only one that i know that makes any worth while money i guess. i think he pulls 50k from it but thats not all he does. i think he is the most successful out of them because he is the only one that doesnt blow that exam crap up peoples asses.

Joe D, Im a PT myself (in London) but have to agree with you , most dont really know what they doing, they go into a class room 3 months later have their certificate.start preaching what they have read.most times .BULL***. Sad

well put

hmmmmm there is truth in both of your statements..

but to say most and to generalize i think is wrong..

in my guy, myself and 1 other are the oldest trainers we train in much the same style.. we also have 1 with a sports med degree, one that teaches strength to the University of Minnesota football team and assort other noobs..

experience and having a body that shows you can do, not just teach is a great way to succeed..

can you make cash doing this?? sure.. but if all you do is training, it's not enough for me but that's not all i do..

and even at $70 hr rate, it can burn you out pretty quick.. x 20 hours week = 70k year.. a 2x week contract for a strength coaching position can pay more, but is a short term contract..

nutritional training and certification training can earn me another 2-6k per month, but travel is involved..

the point being the business is very diverse you need to find out what you enjoy doing..

wow this is an old thread. to any pt i wasnt bashing you. my generalization is based on fact. most trainers are bull shit. they are clueless when it comes to helping another reach a fitness goal. how do i know this? simple. i have been to many gyms and have met many trainers. i have also heard a few success stories and many failures. i also have a knowlege of several of the cert porgrams study material and testing. they are bull shit. if you have learned everything you know about being a pt from an ace or similar program they your service is near worthless. one can learn more in a day on the net then a month from one of these trainers. im sorry if it offends you but it is true. blame federal laws, or the lack of federal laws.
