I'm just wondering out of interest whether anyone has found the GI ranking of carbs of much value to them.
Specifically,
(1) do low GI foods keep you full longer than high GI foods;
(2) do low GI foods give you more long lasting energy;
(3) do high GI foods make you fat.
I'm just asking this because for me GI seems kinda irrelevant (except for PWO).
Potatoes are high GI, but I would find them far more feeling per calorie than apples, or pears, or even grains such as oats and especially bread. The same is even more true of Pumpkin. Although sweet potatoes taste much better than Potatoes, I can't say I notice any difference between the two in terms of satiety or energy levels.
Nor, as i love pumpkin, do I find that eating masses amounts of these makes me gain weight.
