Ranked in terms of severity and strength of treatment.
(1) Roaccutane by Roche (Isotretinoin)- directly targets the sebacus glands and reduces the size of follicular glands, thus preventing any further acne and scarring from occuring. It will make your nasal passage dry and give you cracked lips or even dry anus. Suicidal tendencies are found within the the population, but on a very small scale. Some other individually-reacted side effects are common & expected. ie: I got symptoms like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
(2) Megadoses of B5 (1000mg +) (Panthotenic acid)- is known to reduced the production of oil on your face but does not necessarily prevent stop new acne from appearing. However, quite a good shot to try this. Some people swear by it.
(3) Retin-A (Tretinoin) - Topical Treatment. Tretinoin does not 100% resemble what Isotretinoin does, however it is also a derivate of Vit-A. It remarkbly speeds up the peeling of dead skin cells and layers, much like AHA treatments. It'll make your face glow and helps smoothening + lightening some minor acne scarring too. Some side effects from accumulation of Tretinoin is expected if to be used on a long term basis.
(4) Antibiotics - Minocyclin etc - stop the growth of bacteria but does not target the sebacus glands or the enlarged follicular glands. For some, these are totally useless. Long term used highly not recommended and through some time it becomes ineffective.
Better keep antibiotics for the purpose of infectious diseases like strep throat etc.
