WestSide Training Question!!

EndOfonE

New member
Hi all....I am new here to the elitefitness boards...I have a question with the frequency in the westside style of training. I've read that it is better to split your ME and DE training by 72 hours on some articles while others suggest a split of:

M- ME Bench
T- off
W- ME Squat & Dead
TR- off
F- DE Bench
S- off
Sun- DE Squat & Dead

I guess my main question here is:

Should the time split between the ME and DE days be 72 hours or does it really matter if the DE day is 96 hours later....Just not sure whether this has a big effect on the efficiency of the Westside Style of training?

ok..well i guess this brings another question to mind...Is DE always supposed to be before ME days or can ME come before DE?

There is no before and after. What is a week? It is just an arbitrary designation. Training does not have to begin on a monday. Think about it like this...Friday comes after monday, but friday also comes before monday.

And the 72 hours means you do your ME workout 72 hours after DE. Which means you would do ME 96 hours before DE, if you follow the 72 hour rule exactly. The split you posted follows the 72 hour rule.

Thanks for the info guys.... Yeah..I'm used to thinking in terms of week by week..Thanks for pointing that out to me :) I think I'm going to post the workout I have put together from reading a few Westside articles.. As you can tell I am new to this training...Appreciate the help!!!

i tried it both ways, while waiting 96 hours gives you plently of rest it left me feeling weak although my weights went up more so than they are now with only 72 hours. I was actually thinking of going back to the 96 hours and see if i can make the same gains i did before. although it did leave me feeling weak i think that might be because i was probably overtraining before????
