Weight lifting belt recommendation?

I suffered a back injury over a year ago - a few compressed disks. I've since healed and am getting back into DLs and Squats (really light) but want to start using a belt.

What belt can you guys recommend? I'm about a 31" waist.

Inzer makes awesome belts, however I think I read a few articles about belts not giving so much support to the back?

I like belts. Id go with a inzer belt if you could but its costy

why get a belt in the first place? lift raw and lift with correct form and you will never need a stupid belt. everyone is always lifting with their ego's i guess.

I never use a belt and I find it helps more because its true power and you have to work harder for it which is better lol but I do admit the last time I used one I felt it helped but still I agree with what he said, but if you have an injury that's aching you then take it slow and easy.

Inzer Forever Lever.

Best belt you can buy on the consumer market, and if it breaks it is warrantied forever. I have one coming to me in the mail. Can't weight, its green!

Belts are allowed in raw powerlifting. Lol

who said they weren't?

however it doesn't mean they should be used. belts, straps, gloves, wraps, all that shit I am 100% against.. you use them and you won't develop your core, your wrists, and your forearms correctly. the guys who walk around the gym with a belt and wear gloves day in and day out i guarantee have horrendous lower back core strength and their grip is horrendous. i would like to see them lift without their belt and their gloves and see how they do. they would likely struggle bigtime

i'm not one of those guys at the gym who go around telling people this though.. if someone wants to bring the entire Dick's sporting goods section to the gym with them thats their business. however i have talked to countless guys who have come up to me while i was doing squats and deadlifts and have asked me "hey you don't wear a belt?" or "you want to borrow my belt?" .. and i have told them why I don't wear one... so i hope i have explained it to everyone in this thread why a belt should not be used.. if you want to continue wearing one and crippling your lower back core strength then thats your own business, just remember long term its gonna hurt you more than help. and as far as gloves? sheesh don't get me started on that. manipulating your grip strength weakens grip strength, this is common sense. a lot of these glove and strappers at the gym doing deadlifts wouldn't even be able to do 1 plate raw, thats how weak their hands are

this is correct. if someone is injured they shouldn't be going heavy to begin with. a belt should never be used to cover up an injury, that is just pure ego and stupidity

been there and done that. a lot of guys need to learn the hard way (i was one of them)... I don't let my ego do the lifting anymore and I have stayed amazingly healthy the past 2 years.. before that it was all about ego and i was battling injury after injury

Well as long as the belt isnt worn all the time its fine.. I mean if I work my way up to squatting/pulling 405 without a belt then I use one my core strength would still be 100 times better than the average persons
