Training question...a little long

JOKER47

I have been doing three excercises per bodypart, for most bodyparts, for quite a while now. I have been doing one lift for a body part, then do another lift for a different bodypart before going back to the second lift for the first bodypart.
My theory behind this was to get the most out of each lift for each bodypart by getting a little extra rest between lifts while doing another.
My question is this: Should I be doing all lifts for a bodypart one right after another? Or continue with separating them as I have been?
I know if I was to do them immediately after each other, the amount of weight would drop dramatically for each excercise. (No, I'm not worried about "ego lifting".)

Any input or thoughts on this "theory" would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joker

Lately I've been doing the same thing. I like it as a change up. I'm sure there are some that will think you're better off using the fatigued muscle, but IMO there is more than one way to skin a cat.

nothing is wrong with that. The only question I have is that do you like it and are you feeling stronger since you have extra time to rest each bodypart?

I haven't done the excercises one right after the other more than once. (I just wanted to try it one day.) I do the rest period between each one. I do like it in the fact that I feel I can get more out of each lift done. I was just curious as to other opinions on both options. Or if there were specific reasons people felt one was better than another.

Have you seen any better value when you use one "style" as opposed to the other?

I use it on leg day. Since usually I can only get to the gym 3 times a week I must do legs and shoulders together. Obviously if I do shoulders after legs they will suffer due to overall fatigue.
Doing it like this I feel the shoulders are getting more work. My shoulders a definitely stronger.
I wouldn't for example do this with tri's and chest. Reason being it would surely affect the chest workout. I only do this with unrelated body parts. Give it a try.
