To the powerlifters

O.k. I`ve seen this question before, but no real answer. I want to know or have better idea about steroid use in the powerlifting world. To make it easy, am I ever going to see 600-700 on the bench or 900- 1000 on the squat naturally. I hate shooting for a goal I`ll never reach.

i presume it is possible to reach those goals 'unassisted' but it's not extremely likely.

below is a list of the 1000+ squatters and 700+ benchers i know that are totally clean:

the way you phrase your question is offensive.

you should have phrased it

"...am I ever going to see 600-700 on the bench or 900- 1000 on the squat"

If you think taking steroids is the magic bullet that will get you this, the answer for you my friend is a resounding no.

I agree with Irish. If you really want to know the answer to this question, and it definately is a legitimate question, then there are better ways to ask it.

Twitched asked a similar question, but in a much better way when he started posting here, and got much better answers because he was not accusatory with the question.

That being said. It depends. If you are naturally five foot ten, and 300ish, and can run a 40 in under 5 seconds, then you are naturally extremely fast and strong, and sure, you can get to those types of numbers clean, no doubt about it.

However, if you are under 200 lbs as you ask this question, and especially if you are not especially naturally athletic then the answer is that you may ever get there no matter what you take.

But I don't know of anyone personally who has hit the kind of numbers you have asked about clean.

I knew this would be a touchy subject. I`ve tried steroids one time, didn`t like it, and I know it`s not one cycle and your huge.
It takes just as much work on juice as it does off.

I`m not trying to accuse anyone of anything. I know how it feels, believe me. sorry if I offended anyone, like I said it`s a touchy subject.

I understand. It is a tough thing to try and figure out because unless you really know people well, and usually are using too, then nobody who really knows the skinny about such things is going to talk to you about it.

I don't think it is fair for people to go around thinking that they can do certain things whether it be a 600 bench or becoming an IFBB pro clean when such things are not possible.

If you weigh 220 to 242, and are naturally talented, then I don't think it would be out of reach to bench 500 and maybe squat 700 to 800. But 600, and 900 are out of reach, IMO, even to someone very talented.

That being said, there are a ton of people out there who could probably juice for 10 years and never bench 500. Like footspeed or jumping ability, it takes some natural ability. I think that powerlifting type strength can be built on far far more than can footspeed or jumping ability, but being built for a particualar lift, and having a high number of fast twitch muscle fibers makes a big difference too.

Collins "PoohBear" Rhoads... 275 over 600lb bench press.. USAPL tested

Some say Kirk was using when he squatted 1,003 and some say he wasnt.. u be the judge.. he also squatted it in the USAPL

hey willy,

the bmonster was prolific in his answers. i agree. any offense i took is rescinded.

I have to ask you though. Why do those particular numbers mean so much to you? if you are focused on remaining drug free, just shoot for consistent steady gains, seek out competitions with a semi-level playing field, and be happy with what you can achieve.

I guarantee you can become stronger than you are at this very moment without using juice.

When I started lifting at 13 I thought that the bodybuilders of the day just lifted weights. Well I think that we all know that the majority of them do alot more than that. So now I`m lookin at these guys of the big numbers, the powerlifters, and thought that maybe it`s achievable because they never cut up for shows.

Just curious really, thank everybody for the replies and not the
flames.
