To Everyone: What amount of weight do you lift for side laterals & front raises ?

Hey I also like doing bent over rear delt flys w/ the cables for variety - I really like the extra stretch on the down side (if you stand far enough away from the cable pulley!).

I do 30-35 pounds overhead press sometimes 40's , side lateral 15 -20 pounds
Front lateral raises 15-20 pounds....

13 weeks away till my competition 15 % bodyfat and lowest weight i have ever been 138..

just a comment:

Laterals can be a real mass builder if you treat them as such and use progressive resistance.

My side delts GREATLY improved in size as I built my latersals from 25's to 40's.

ALso......superset:

Side laterals with dumbell press....use the same weight for 3 sets of 10

My DB presses are 30-40 lbs, but the side laterals stay at 15. I can handle 20 lb for a few reps, but my form goes bad after that, so no point. For some variety you can use the cables and possibly get up to 20 lbs.

We do about the same - although I am too much of a spaz to do anything cables.

I get up to 45lb DBs OH,22.5lb DB for side raises, ~16lbs front raises.I actually spread my shoulder workout over the week as I find dedicating one day to them is too much & results in over training as shoulders are generally used in most upper body movements.

for example I do side & front raises at the end of chest workout and DB presses on arms day as a warm-up before triceps.

I seem to have made good gains using the above strategy and have good shoulder development.

DB press 25-35

Side and Front 10-15

Shoulders are one of my weak points in terms of actual weight being lifted but they look pretty good. I also like a little cable action with super sets for shoulders.

Hi all. I was just curious how much weight you all use when doing side laterals & front raises for the shoulders ?

I've found that is hard for me to use more weight for my side laterals & front raises, But it's easeir to use extra weight for presses ?

Does this make any sense ?

I was hoping to use the same amount of weight for all 3 exercises ?

I don't want my shoulders to look un-preportioned ! ! !

What weight do you all use ? I really want to build up my shoulder muscles !
oops
