Surgery went great!

My BA surgery yesterday went fantastic! I got home around 2:30 and rested for a bit but then was up and moving around by 4:00. Certainly I'm sore like I did chest flyes with 200lb dumbbells but the pain medicine is working great. I'm trying to alternate as much as I can with Tylenol. The biggest issues or discomforts I've had is a headache every few hours and itchy skin (which I understand can be from the pain meds). I don't get headaches so I'm sure I'm just a sissy but my goodness. It hurts worse than the chest pain!

I slept for a few hours at a time last night and am a little more sore this morning but probably because I didn't keep ice on all night like I did yesterday. I'm a tad swollen but it doesn't seem like much. The ice must be working wonders (bags of frozen peas to be exact!). Although they are super tight. I mean hard. I understand this goes away within a few weeks. I have my post op appointment next Wednesday.

Got on the scale this morning....weighed 129 yesterday morning and 136 this morning! Ouch. I sure hope it is water retention! I ate enough crackers yesterday to gain 20lbs :-) I have my diet pretty much worked out - I'll post it in my journal later this weekend. It will be key to keeping weight off during my down time.

My doctor did a fantastic job and they are perfectly sized to my body. Perfectly. I couldn't be more pleased.

Don't stress about the weight gain. LOL

And yes, the pain meds (or anti-biotics - are you taking any?) will make you itchy.

I'm glad that everything went well and that you are so pleased. :)
Pain meds - from what I understand they can cause the itchy skin. It is actually better today but boy am I sore. Much more so than yesterday. Do you think I'm carrying that much more fluid (7lbs)? No way you can gain that much in one day. I feel all bloated - my neck, arms, fingers etc... The pain has moved from upper chest to lower and sides.

Glad you're doing well..

You're probably retaining fluids from the trauma of the surgery. The body doesn't know what exactly happened and is trying to protect itself. You're also carrying bigger boobs.
You'll be fine in a week..

Congratulations!!

LOLOL, I weigh more.

Don't forget your new breast could weigh anywhere from 2-4 pounds, and part of the inflammatory reaction will be related to water retention.

Argh...LOL

Don't pinch me! I was curious how my body was reacting to the surgery - and it is habit in the morning. 2 - 4lb boobs? Oh my. mine are rather small (only 320cc).

I am realizing now that I am swollen all over. I'm even having a hard time typing where my fingers are swollen. Today, my belly and hip flexors are swollen. I can definitely tell I am retaining water (I ate way too many saltines crackers!) and am swollen all over from the surgery. Today I am going to work on getting my normal fluid intake down. I"m feeling much better and off pain meds so I am hoping in a couple of days I'll be good to go.

I've had a 100% carb diet for the last couple of days! I hope that today I can get off of those and eat some other foods. As soon as I am positive I am off pain meds I will begin my recovery diet and supplements!

Thanks ladies for your support!

Hmm, I'd check with your Dr.; 4 lbs of boobs sounds like a lot. Mine are 300cc and don't think they're that heavy. Water retention due to surgery.
Don't worry so much about your diet since you'll be up and about eating normal in a matter of days. Your body also needs to recover.
That's great you're off med. The sooner the better, I believe.

Rough guide to weight

320 cc = 320 ml x 2 = 620 ml

620 ml = (approximately) to 620 g

620 g x 2.2 = 1.4 lbs

Silcon may be slightly more dense so the weight may be a bit higher, there are websites that will give you exact weights of implants.

If you had 400 cc implants, that is very close to 2 lbs of extra silcon.

:)

Mine are 1.5lbs. So once everything settles I should be 131lbs +/-

I could easily be carrying 4lbs water retention. We'll see how I progress...I would imagine within a few days all of that should go away!
