Squat Form Question

New member
My question/problem is related to foot positioin. I find that I have to have a fairly wide stance (heels are shoulder width, maybe a little more, toes pointed out a little) or else I end up rocking back on my heels (toes up) when in the down position.

I don't feel any unusual pressure on my knees. I don't have a video, but does this mean I may be doing something wrong? It seems most people I see doing squats have a narrower, or even much narrower stance (I'd fall over in some of the really close stances). I go a little below parallel, but don't put hams to calves as I don't want a bounce or get any rotation from the contact...

That's what I said as I was opening it! :lmao:

LOL. Guess there are a variety of expert opinions on this topic.

Yeah, it doesn't seem wide to me either, just that I've seen a rash of people with their heels 3in apart lately and it seems I'm in some sort of sumo wrestler stance in comparison...

i saw some dickweed any my gym doing smith machine squats with his feet right next to each other. widen yer stance some dude, shoulder width is not wide.

Shoulder witdth is normal but many people go wider than this. I personally don't like to since I feel like my glutes are gonna rip of the bones:mad:
