smoothie time!

One I've tried is just plain frozen strawberries, ice cubes, water, and a vanilla low carb lean body protein packet. Tastes pretty good, lots of protein. You could add yogurt or some other fruits too. Bananas need to be very ripe, or they will give your shake a chemical taste. Oh, and I agree to stay away from blackberries or raspberries......too many seeds.

Sometimes i have the following which lasts me through the morning, sometimes lunch too, if I'm diesting. All is mixed together in a VitaMix blender:

1 small vanilla yogurt
half a cup orange juice
hand full of frozen strawberries
1-2 cups of frozen berries (mix of field berries)
1 inch ring of pineapple
half an apple
1 kiwi
1-2 cups of ice (as needed to make it liquid enough)
1 scoop protein powder

Tastes awesome.

My personal fav.

2 scoops of choc whey protien (50g)
skim milk
frozen strawberries
2-4 raw eggs

Yummy!

It would be better if you buy fresh fruits, wash them, dry them and freeze them (no sugar added like the store bought frozen fruits)

I would still to low GI/GL fruits: Blueberries, strawberries, rasberries, peaches..
A banana sounds nice, but its VERY high in Sugar!!!!!!!

ideally i'd buy fresh fruit and then freeze it but i'm too lazy for that. Even getting out the blender is a stretch for me... :)

smothies are delicious! their really good if your trying to add calories in your diet. some smoothies have over 600 calories! alot of fructose, but if you drink them at the right times you should be ok.
