Single or Double?

When it comes to bench shirts...what is the difference in performance between a single and a double denim? Discussed this with benchmonster awhile back when trying to decide on a denim for spatts. He recommended a single open back...said the only difference between a single and a double was a double was less likely to blow out. And at her strength level it would be easier to get weights to touch.

So what do the rest of you bench specialists think? My first shirt was a Double Denim...so I learned to drive with a formula one racer...I have no way to compare the two.

My personal thoughts are to get as much equipment as you can handle and learn to use it. Just wondering if the extra ply would make a difference one way or the other.

And while I'm asking...Karin's or Inzer and why?

defiantly get the double, no as for karins or inzer thats reall up to you, ive benched in a borrowed inzer, and i just got a karins shirt and i like them both. id say they are both about the same price, karin dbl is 165 i think and inzer is right around there witht he radical cut and velcro back which you should get if you decide inzer, which reminds me karin makes two styles close back and v-back, get the v-back. im kinda leaning toward karin right now since i live about 35 minutes away from her and it took here two weeks to have my shirt ready. but when i get the money i am still gonna order and inzer dbl or triple to put in my toy box too.

I think my bench is very close to Spatts' and I got a double denim V-back from Karin. I don't have too much experience in it yet, but thanks to one session with Chris Taylor and some of his partners at Iron Island I already have a PR in the shirt, plus they taught me to touch lighter weighs in the shirt then I can even touch in my Fury.

My best bench in this shirt is a 275. I can get ~225, maybe less to the chest. I can also pull it way down and cinch with a belt and need ~300 to touch. This shirt will be with me a while. I plan to get my first 300 in it this summer.

I have a fury, Inzer single ply, and a double denium radicul cut velcro back shirt..... I haven't been able to bench with my fury because it was cut wrong when I got it..... The single ply and double denim are really about the same for me right now because they both are pretty loose..which gives me time to grow and thats what I wanted... I got 315 with the double denim which helped me about 50lbs with it being loose...The shirt really only helped me about 4" off my chest because of how loose I got it. I'm still on a bulking cycle trying to get bigger so my shirts will be tighter =). The Velcro back is the way to go if your able to where at your meets...
