Cant answer your question for supplement/drug support but thought i would add something.
Ive had all the shoulder issues everyone talks about with bar bench, never could get the shoulder issues straight until someone told me to watch how i sleep. As it turns out, i was sleeping with my arm stretched under my pillow, head rested on my bicep. Apparently this puts a bit of strain on the shoulder, not allowing it to heal as easily; once i stopped this, I noticed immediate improvement.
