shoulder pain when benching

Does anyone know exactly what this pain is...
My left shoulder gets a very sharp stabbing pain, mostly when I'm benching heavy weight, and its right when I'm locking the weight out. It hurts on ME day b/c im using heavy weight, and it hurts on DE day b/c im using all the speed I have. The pain went away for a month or so but now its came back and its horrible. I've been doing alot of rotator cuff exercises(like the ones in the AR section) as a means to help it, but still no sign of it getting better. I have tried to take 2 weeks off as well(like a year ago anyhow), but that didn't help. So anyone know what it is exactly? Benching is really the only exercise that the pain is really noticeable(actually much more than noticeable, more like a hot iron being jammed inside my muscles)... thanks :)

do you tuck your elbows inside? even when you take a wide grip?

does it feel like a joint pain or muscle pain? i would def get it checked out - nothing worse than fucking up a shoulder bro.

Probably joint pain. Here is a little trick I tell some of our patients. Take a break from the bar and use dumbells. Rather than holding your hands like your holding a bad, supinate your hands more like a hammer curl. By doing this it takes a lot of stress off of your shoulders. Do this for 2-3 weeks and you should be back to the bar in no time. Let me know what ya think.
