Should I be proud?

16 years of age - moving on 17 in a month., weight 207 lbs height 6ft been training about 3 years.

I hit the big mark tonight, I'm finally benching the 102kg mark, (224lbs)

Should I be proud, or is that average for someone with my stats.. I feel proud :-)

It is only 17 lbs. above your bodyweight. 255 is something for your size that would be very respectable.

it isn't a lot but its still more than 95% of your peers can bench.. so yeah be proud. the next couple years you will further mature and you should be aiming for the high 200's... the strongest guys are well into their 30's and even 40's. so you are still young.

i remember i was 17 and some dude in high school who weighed a good 50 pounds more than me claimed he could bench more than me.. so i said okay lets go to the weight room after school. we go there and i put on 135 and he can't even do that. i get on there and reel off 15 of them. he never talked shit to me after that :)

Any goal you have that you accomplish you should be proud of no matter how big or small it is. You had a goal on moving up in weights and that's what you're doing. It shouldn't be a question of should you be proud, hell yeah be proud. As long as you stick with it there's no where else to go but up bud. Good job and set another max goal and you'll reach it.

Yes! You set a goal And seen it through. That is something to be proud of!
Now do it again!

Agreed with what's been said, it's a goal you set and accomplished....nice job
