Jeff, I recall sending the guy a rather detailed email, telling him who I am and who referred me to him and for what reasons, etc.

What I got back in reply was a shock. Others have commented on him as "The Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld (NO GEAR FOR YOU). Sheesh, what an attitude problem. It wasn't directly offensive, but it's like the guy didn't read...and what he sent was gibberish.

It's a general issue I have with people who claim to be sources but who can't communicate effectively in English (or of gear, in English) and whose business conduct and ethics reflect, well, the shithole in which they live. They're not sources, because sources are consultants also; they're just gear-sellers who only give a damn about money - as much and as soon as possible.

I guess I can now understand what you said, based on the practically unintelligible reply I got from him. Why deal with a jerk? Maybe he's just a paranoid meglomaniac, like others I've known; seems to be, judging from his email.
