Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

That pic actually makes me laugh at how tacky my protan had gotten by the end of the weekend -notice the other girls did makeup instead of 3 layers of protan....

HI Sassy! Glad to see things are working out for you lovely lady! Keep up the fantastic work! I am wondering..I see you are doing a 50p/30f/20c split...do you do carb up days or just a steady 50/30/20 split?

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

Funny you should ask...! LOL! Actually I am switching it up tomorrow as I think the 20% carbs is completely stalling me out. I have no energy and I sleep like crap (as you can see from my 3:44 am posting) -- thyroid dragging??

Hmmm... wonder if the low carbs could be attributed to my sleeping like trash too?!?!? Still tryin to figure it all out... hope you get it all under control though! ;) Did I read somewhere you're now 8 weeks out right???

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

8 weeks on Saturday. Staying at the same type of diet for any length of time, you have to assume your body will adjust to it and then there's no element of change to introduce a need for the metabolism to change in response. Low carbs will also start to stall out your body anyway. I've got a few more issues going on than just low carbs but when my sleep gets f'd up, it really screws up everything.

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

I just want to say a few things about sleep disorders. I have dealt with them since I was 13 years old. Never knew wh. I have been on every sleeping pill and tranquilizer imaginable. Accupuncture did work surprisingly. Unless I partied all night because the excitement would keep me up. But nothing else worked. I have even been to a sleep clinic. Waste of money I believe.
Have you been to one? They can check for restless leg syndrome or breathing problems that can contribute.
Do you have an inability to fall asleep or stay asleep? I ask because I feel for ya and I have study sooo much on this shit that I hope I can offer some insight.
One weird thing that I noticed that had a contributing factor was...I got a test that showed my food allergies. I had no idea I was allergic to so much. From black/white pepper to eggs and 30 other things. And when I finally stopped eating the stuff I was allergic to I noticed I ws sleeping better. Then I would get a wild hair and eat a brownie or something that I was allergic to and my heart would be beating so hard all night that I would either not go to bed at all or go in teh morning instead. And Sassy, this shit will fuck up your cortisol bad! I was mess all the time. I just wanted to let you know about this because no docs had ever suspected food allergies and since I have it under control, I realy feel that is what it was and a test is totally worth the money.
Good luck girl!
Not being able to digest oats could be the wheat in the oats. I am the same way and found out I have an allergy to wheat. I didnt have it before but from not rotating my foods I developed it.
Maybe you can carb up for a little while until you feel better or add a few carb up days with something besides what youa re eating. Or...maybe try changing ,ost of what you are eating right now for a week and eat different things to see if you are abloe to sleep. Pay attention to why you cant sleep. Is it your heart pounding? To much on the mind? You would be surprised what it can be.

Re: Sassy: July 2006 - 41 & BB Bound

I've been a "night owl" my whole life. I've been able to digest oatmeal, and sometimes I can't if I don't eat it for a while. I've been able to sleep like a rock and I've had trouble getting any sleep on the EXACTLY same diet and training schedule. I've been eating the same style diet for over 5 yrs. These are things that are things happen day to day for me - some combination of things. Primarily I've been thru the wringer as far as my work situation and being new to the area where I live. This is the primary culprit in all of this. That's just the way its going to be for awhile.
