Questions about Prof. Figure/Fitness Model's Diets

I'm going to be using protan, I've already tested it out on my skin, and I get a beauitful golden brown colour...I'm so happy it doesn't turn me green, lol.
Is a product like Pro Tan something I should not consider using prior to my cruise?

No girl that's not something you want to use, it's VERY dark....lol

See...I was one of those dorks mislead by the oxygen mag. I have been trying to emulate what the figure models do. I thank you all here at EF for trying to set me on the right track. It was very easy for me to get caught up in thinking, I too could look like that by following what I read in the articles. Now I know better. I'm thankful to be able to go to a board with such helpful, real women.

IMO, when that happens you set yourself up for failure before you even start.

You found the right place :)

Yup!! I got soooo frustrated with food plan, workouts etc!!! I was becoming very unmotivated. I know I am in the right place now! All the great advice, that actually works and the support, I am so motivated! Love ya!

These magazines drive me crazy, I don't even read them anymore. I do like Flex though, er sometimes if I can get past all the ads and get to the good stuff.
Those articles in Oxygen crack me up, they may be talking about so and so's diet and how she has such a fast metabolism then they go and post this diet that looks like its about 1000 calories at most. This is so misleading to the uneducated. You can pick up cosmo or elle and get a diet like those that will guarantee you lose 10 lbs in 10 days. I thought these mags like Ox were supposed to be supporting a healthy lifestyle. Some of those articles are just plain bs.

Protan is literally a skin day that you paint on. You put it on w/ gloves & its messy as hell. It gets all over everythign until its had a chance to dry (like stand nekkid for an hour w/ a big fan blowing on u) and then let it set over night wearing long pants & sleeves. Definitely not for normal "tan" look. The intended purpose is coloring that can stand up to bright stage or photography lighting.

A note about Dreamtan -- I"ve been hearing that many venues dont' even allow you to use Dream tan because it rubs off on everything -- so check your competition's rules before planning to use it.

At my first show, a friend of mine used Dreamtan and looked like he was rolled in curry or something -- sort of a shiny orange. But he said after the pre-judge in the morning, he sat around in it for a few hours & then took a shower and looked amazing at the night show. I need to ask around about that as well because I"ve not heard of anyone else trying that yet.

JBL001 has mentioned Olympic Tan on a number of boards as somthing that is not as smelly or hard to use as Protan. And cheaper. I'm continuing to look into that -- its not something I've heard of before but will be asking around.

I need to stop in at a MAC store once & get the make-over. And don't forget to consider that you will have much darker skin when you are picking your makeup!

Yea well Alicia uses dreamtan, I'ma stay away from that though, cause I'll be pretty damn pissed if i got it on my $250 suit, and it's a light colour too, so it would stain for sure.

Yea as for make up I got to go to the MAC counter too, I'm going to put a few coats of protan on my shoulder or something and tell them I'm going to be darker than that.
