Questions about Prof. Figure/Fitness Model's Diets

Plus, again, you can't always believe what you read.

They usually DO do a ton of cardio. I personally know if a couple fitness models who do VERY LITTLE - IF ANY weights. They rely on cardio and pilates ONLY. I've had several discussions with them about this.

For the non-competitors, the muscular look is pretty frowned upon in general fitness modelling. They want definition, but not muscle separation. 6 pack? No way.

You see? this is what frustrates me most. Women are set of to fail by trying to emulate an impossible program.

thats why we have EF

is even worse on the mens side....

If it was 77..and I opened a flex and saw Frank Zane, who in my opinion had the best physique to even hit the stage, - I would think - thats doable....he was 180-185 during his 3 years as Mr. O

Open a flex now and you have an offseason Ronnie Coleman who is hard at 310

its too much

Also not every program is going to work for every girl, you got to find what works for you.

Just take for example Daisy, I think she said before that she doesn't train with weights for her legs, she doesn't need to, plyometrics work better for her.

Very true. Good point.

The only problem is that when you are dealing with a magazine, you are usually dealing with the uneduacted public. They read something, and think it will work for them. They will follow something blindly, without every asking 'why' or how they can switch something around.

I mean, how many new poster's here have you seen that come and say "I am doing everything I can, I eat good, I train hard, and I can't lose fat!" -- but then find out they are eating the wrong food choices, doing cardio 800x a week, and lifting the pink dumbbells because they will "turn in to a man"!

The public is set up to fail, on the basis of their ignorance and gullibility (is that a word?) - and the fact they beleive blindly, without taking responsibility for themselves.

Thisn is my opinion, as harsh as it sounds. :)

To the point of cardio - I'm guessing most competitors or models prepping for a particular date to look a certain way are going to be doing ridiculous amounts of cardio -- I know it takes 2 sessions of cardio/day at least 3x/week for me to cut way down. I also think that the diets we are talking about are those that fall into the 12-week prep period. So yea it is almost all bullshit relative to the regular person. And if it isn't some sort of "extreme" type of diet or somethng that can be talked about w/ a schedule of meals, specific foods and total cals, it just doesn't make it look "special" to the reader. i.e. no reason to highlight it as an interesting article. People like these canned "programs" --- just describing a "normal" way of eating wouldn't be attractive or "convincing" to the general reading populous. And also these articles are talking about prepping for a specific goal, not just general "wellness".

I totally agree with you Daisy.

Oh and just so you know ladies alot of the girls have to do insane amounts of cardio close to competition cause they let themselves get out of shape in the off season.

Remember I went to that camp last month, well there were quite a few girls there, that I shocked on how out of shape they were, I couldn't believe they were getting ready to compete in April.

MIss, where is this camp? Just curious

Seems easier to keep yourself in condition than to have to yo-yo back and forth.
