I know this doesnt belong here but I really want to show somebody how dangerous oxycontins can be.....

A friend of mine broke his leg and has no insurance so to help deal with his pain he got a hold of a bunch of 80mg oxycontin pills instead of paying for a Doctor. Anyways I have heard how addicting they are and seen to many good people lose alot because of that drug. He thinks that he is stonger then the drug and he says "There is no way I could ever get hooked on a drug ever". I just tell him that is the kind of attitude that will get him hooked. Has anyone had experience with these?

How exactly does your post let everyone know how dangerous Oxycodone is?? I mean, it sounds like he needs it for legitimate reasons, and it is an approved drug for pain right??? So what's the problem??

Oi veh. Ok, BUT..you cant compare hydrocodones to Oxycontins man! The shit is two different types of Opiate. I see you failed to mention strengths of the tabs, as far as 1 oxy being equal to a hydro too, so Im assuming that you are just regurgitating something you heard. Either way, you're right about the addictive part.

1 20mg Oxycontin = 4 regular percocet 5mg/375mg tabs. There's your comparison.

Oxycontin......I broke my right femor, shattered right fibula, cracked ribs and bruised lung, busted out front two teeth in an accident last July. I was on that for a while and I was fine. I prefered the Percocet and was on that for the last 3 mo's. In fact, there was a couple week period where I was on Oxy and Perc at the sametime.

No....Oxycontin is ok. Try perc for 3 mo's and tell me about addiction. I love that stuff now and not for pain. I'm out now...Dr. won't give me anymore but that's ok. I don't need it..... just love it.

The question here is.....is enough going on in a person's life that addiction does not become a problem? Well I have enough going on that Oxy and Perc didn't do shit to me. Hell......I even still have a prescription for Oxy I never filled for 50 tabs (Free I might add). It's been sitting there for over a mo. I don't really need it. What I need is my size back from the accident and no pain reliever opiate is going to do that. So.... I guess you can say that the addiction to Body Building over-rides it.

You guys are hilarious. Dude, you just said that you were FINE with Oxy's but got addicted to Percs. STUPID MORON THEY ARE THE SAME FUCKING THING!!! Maybe if you people had a clue or two about what you are putting into your bodies, you wouldn't be such bubblegummers, and could hold your hooch a little better. DAMN! Oxy's are stronger than Percs, so you are basically stating that a LESSER STRENGTH VERSION of oxy had you addicted, while the higher strength version of Oxycodone(Oxycontin) did nothing to harm you?!?!?! I call bullshit.

See here's the deal: It's all good to warn people of the dangers of a drug(even if you have no experience with it yourself--obviously). BUT, if you come with a message, and back it with OBVIOUS INCONSISTANCIES AND LIES, people with a bit of knowledge on the topic will more often than not expose you as knnowing DICK, and then your "message" becomes useless because you have lost all credibility as to your own personal knowledge on the topic you are being so preachy about. Especially here at this site man. People here are way too edjucated to be influenced with ignorance & propaganda.

OK dude, your calling bullshit on someone you dont know or know anything about. I can see getting addicted to percs and not oxys. If you dont like the effects of oxys because of how strong they are, and you like the way percs make you feel, then yes, you can be addicted to percs and not oxys. If he prefers percs to oxys, then he is addicted to percs, and not oxys, whether being the same content, they are 2 different pills. I have taken both due to injuries, and would I rather have percs then oxys yes, so if I got hooked on percs, rather then the oxys, your going to call bullshit, whos the moron now?

When dealing with addiction, there are many factors that come into play. yes, there is the physical addiction because of how strong an oxy is, but it is the psychological addiction that will get you most of the time. My mother had surgery and was placed on 40mg oxys, which she took for 2 months straight. She took them for the pain and that was it, not for a high, when the pain began to subside, it took her one week to be weaned off and she neveer touched one again, nor craved one. Did the oxys help her? yes they did. Did they hurt her? not at all.

on that note, help me....lol.....got pills with "35/97 V" on them. know what they are? were sold to a friend who gave them to me (gave him headaches). supposed to be like the watson 540's he usually gets from this guy. wasn't sure if they were higher dose or lower, or something different. and no one seems to know.
