On HRT, total test levels through the roof on therapeutic dose

I just got my lab results which were taken one week after my injection. I inject 200mg oc cypionate every two weeks Judging by libido, one week post injection seems to be my peak. It came back as 873ng/ml. I'm pretty sure that's a bit high. I guess it probably drops to about half of that the second week after the injection. However, my doc didn't drop my dose.

BTW.. I'm starting a cycle in two weeks!

My results from Quest Diag show that normal is 241-827 so if they are using the same range, then you are a bit high.

Between 800 and 900 is perfect and withing the acceptable range. One warning though -- start a cycle now and it can mess things up. If I were you. I'd be happy to have that much test on a consistant basis.

By the way, it is best to test your test at the nadir, meaning you should test it two weeks after your shot just before you are due for another so you can find out what it is at the lowest point as this is critical. It will always be very high the day after a shot and the fact that you still are at the high end of normal, depending on what lab you use, after a week is great! It's great that your doc didnt' decrease it either as some would.

Actually, normal can be up to from 300-1080. Different labs, different hospitals, different doctors...they all have different normal ranges. There is no standard with Total Testosterone. It changes every year. What was normal last year at 900 is normal this year at 1000.

Agreed. You want to be high/normal. If you start exceeding high/normal, you will find your lipid profile becoming poor as well as your CBC.

Yeah, I think the acceptability of higher test levels is increasing.

Geoff, wasn't it you that mentioned that as a population, humans test levels are decreasing over time?

Human Testos and sperm levels decrease with aging, for sure. The long-term trend seems to be rapidly declining or low Testos levels early in life.

I've seen statistics that state that the average test levels have decreased greatly even from just the 1950's. Probably has something to do with the reasons why everyone is so overweight.

I suggest you inject more frequently to maintain more consistent blood levels. A 100mg injection every week would be greatly preferable to 200 mg once every two weeks.
