BTW, why the ratio fruit/vegetables is so high ?

Why not a bit less fruit and more veggies ?

energy I think.........thgis is a body building diet so more serving of fuit are needed.

also there is one thing I disagree about....or at least don't understand.

and that is why have the serving of complex carbs after the workout?

Insulin is only needed after training to stuff nutrients into the muscles, and other times its best to keep it on the low side to to keep lean. That's how you gain muscle and lose fat at the same time.

That's what it boils down, manipulate your hormonal balance. You you can eat 2000 cals of starch carb heavy meals and get fat, been there before or you can eat 2000 cals of moedrate heavy, moderate fat and moderate carbs and get lean and build muscle at the same time. You just need to know when to eat starchy carbs.

There would be a lot more lean and muscular people walking around if people understoof this. Its taken me 20 years and futzing around to finally figure it out!

I'm just curious, can you post your diet?

Omega,
Does John Bailey have a website, book, or contact info?

You know I spoke to him a couple of times, about "supplements" =)
but I have lost all contacts.....

maybe you can do a search?

good luck

Omega,
I see that in the diet plan there is only one time where there is a protein drink and that is at meal 2.

For me it's kind of hard to cook alot of the protein that you have listed in meal's 1-6 due to time constraints. I am currently using a protein shake on meal 1, 2, and 5. Is this too many protein shakes in one day? Should I be strictly using whey protein powders or MRP's or a mix of both?

Omega, the complex carbs are there post workout because this is prolly the most important time to target muscle glycogen replenishment, and fruits are not as good for this. If you mean "why not high GI sugary stuff?", that would be because he prolly belongs to the same school of though that I do.....spiking your insulin is not necessary and maybe not healthy (long term). I continue to make good natural gains without eating sugary crap postworkout. Good bodybuilding is all about keeping insulin as low as possible while still giving your muscles what they need to grow. That's also why I'm a fan of ALA.

No I don't see any problems with that...:)
I think it should workout out well if you use just pure protien powders (no carbs) and mix it with your favorite fruit juice.

maybe you could cycle your carbs, with each meal, like fruit juices with the proien powders, and fiberous evgitables with the solid sources of protien. The author of this article:rolleyes: does not really utilize vegitables, but I think its a good idea

Why no carbs? Isn't the whole idea of this diet to bulk?
