Here's an article on HIIT and it's value in fat loss. The issue with doing a shitload of cardio for 3 weeks -- too much cardio can eat your muscle - you may drop some fat but you will lose muscle too. So by the end of it conceivably your bodyfat % may not have changed at all because it is the ratio of bodyfat to lean muscle and if you lose both, the ratio doesn't really get better. You want less bodyfat, more lean muscle. You said you got some good muscle gains from your 6 weeks, so why would you want to sacrifice that for some bodyfat? The bodyfat you can deal better with by diet. The HIIT 2-3 days / week + some regular cardio will keep you busy but not exhaust you. And if you have access to a good gym, why not try doing some training as well? If you ahve the time, you can use it to get comfortable with some routines, your form and the rep range that you want before you go back & deal w/ all the guys staring.

Here's another thread about cardio before it gets pushed down the board:

And also check thru the list of links on Daisy's "BEST THREADS of EF" sticky at the top of the board for cardio / HIIT and diet stuff.

Sassy you are awesome. I feel like I really got some good advice and a lot more confidence. I am a muscular girl but not even close enough to what I wish to accomplish! I will do the research on HIIT and Im starting tomorrow. I will start posting my food intake as well and hopefully Im not f*ing that up too much. Im sure ill get help with that as well. Whatever it takes.....Thanks again!! ;)

Naw no such thing as fucking up. It all has to fit into your lifestyle and that's what takes a little time to figure out. The thing about 3 weeks to do some wild cardio -- I guess you could do it if you had some big event at the end of 3 weeks, but other than having a result on a particular day / time at the end of it, you may not like the results further down the road. The whole thing depends on persistance & consistency. No extremes or your body will rebound back with an opposite extreme. Just no point to it.

Starting tomorrow I am going to do:
Monday :30 min cardio HIIT(5min warm up and 5 min cool down) and Abs
Tuesday:Morning = Chest,triceps.,..then I have a Pilates class at 5pm
Wednesday:same as Monday
Thursday: Morning = BAck and BIceps...Pilates at 5pm
Friday: Same as mon. and wed.
Saturday: legs and shoulders
Sunday:REST!!!

How does this sound? My boyrfiend helped me out as well as looking through some of the posts on here. Keep in mind that this is not my REAL starting point. I plan on posting all my stats and my complete workout in 3 weeks when I go home.

(example diet today)
Meal 1: 3 medium strawberries,a small pear, and a small yogurt;water and milk along with a multi vitamin and calcium.
Meal 2: Handful of peanuts and water
Meal 3: Chicken salad pasta w/ tuna
Meal 4: small apple w/ PB
Meal 5: (dinner) Small side od Tofu(1cup;consisted of soy nuts, corn,2types of beans, peas, red peppers, soy protein, and lots more veggies), baked potato(they didnt have sweet potato)w/ 1/4cup cheese, and desert I had 1/2 cup pineapple. 2 glasses of water.

*I am also going to supplement some meals w/ protein shakes once I get home and I get my broke college student as* a job!

ANY SUGGESTIONS???

:newbie: Im a new member. My boyfriend has been on EF for a while and suggested I join. Im happy to be a part of the community. I plan on being an active member and learning a lot from you girls. Last year I weighed in at 178lbs and I am 5ft4 tall. I decided to start working out and I have managed to lose 50lbs. I am trying to be serious about my diet and working out, and I have recently developed a new found love for women's fitness body building. I need a "mom"...someone to guide me and help me. I am a 3rd year college student and a body nutrition;Dietetics major.I am very willing and determined to reach this goal but as of right now I dont know where to start. I understand the whole "strict diet" concept and am more than prepared for that. I need more help on the working out part of it. I guess I just don't know where to start.I am a very curvy woman and I gain muscle mass easily. Please help me out and give me the advice I so desperately need. I look forward to becoming friends with people who are dedicated to this life style....something I plan on doing my self as well.

P.S. I plan on doing a contest here at college in a year from now, Hopefully with everyone's help I can achieve this goal I have set for my self. :newbie:

hey!! welcome to EF! :)
