Hello!
Im new here. I am 19 years old. I am 5"11 and i weight exactly 197. Im from fresno, ca.
My goal is to lose weight! I don't want to get "big" by muscles, i want to get lean.
My diet is as follows:

9:00 am: wake up, bananna and glass of no fat milk

12:00 pm: lots of fruit, water

5:00 pm: tues. chicken sandwich no mayo, wed. chicken nuggets, thurs. Steak, fri. subway sat. a burger, sun. whatever my family makes.

11:00 pm: peanut butter sandwich or cereal lots of water

3:00 am: go to sleep

Now everyday after work i jog 2 1/2 miles.

My membership at the local gym expired and im waiting to take the weightlifting at college (starts 16th). I work out upper body and abs only on mon/wed/fri.

My biggest problem is my chest. I guess you can say i have small man boobs :bawling: (any suggestions to minimize?)

Please let me know on what i should and shouldn't eat please!
I am dedicated and WILL go maximum effort on to lose weight fast and safe

p.s. I ordered a MET-Rx Protein Plus Vanilla Butter Cream and i will be taking that during breakfast.

Thanks a lot guys/gals! I hope this board helps me get to the point!

i'm gonna echo myself here

- When it comes to carbs, stick to low glycemic, unprocessed carbs such as vegetables that are low GI, Beans, Legumes, Lentils, Oats

- Do not combine fats and carbs in the same meal, eat them at least 2 hours apart

- Get one protein meal post training, preferably in the form of a post workout shake comprising of Whey protein and glucose at a ratio of 1:2 respectively (e.g. 25g protein, 50g glucose)

- Try not to eat carbs after 6pm unless you train after 6pm in which case, even if you train before bed, have a PW shake!

- Drink at least 3-4 litres of water a day

- Cut out hydrogenated fats from your diet, replace them with good fats such as th fats found in salmon and other oily fish, fish oils, flax oil, Olive Oil, Nuts, avacados

- Eat at least 4 times a day preferably 5-6 meals per day

training wise, look up HIIT (high intensity interval training) for cardio and do this on an empty stomach

Babyfaced Assassin hit it again. Eat more meals a day, just smaller meals. Higher protein intake (good protein). Fruits are okay in moderation, but stick with the more complex carbs.

thanks guys!
One more question.
I recieved my met-rx proteing supplement and under the directions it states "Use only for food supplement. Do not take as a weight reduction."
Does this mean its not going to help me get lean and lose weight? Or did i make a mistake buying a proteing supplement?

BA is on the money. BTW your diet is overloaded with fructose and high GI carbs. I also see some hydrogenated oil. Those are your biggest problems. Anyway, it is particularly annoying to alot of us when someone who doesn't use steroids, and may not even have the genetics to get big, says "Oh I don't want big muscles". I mean do you really thing that is going to happen just from lifting weights on a poorly thought out training system and without drugs? Not trying to bust your balls, but someone is going to say it if I don't.

Now, as far as your lifting, you need to get a gym membership or a membership at the fitness center at your university. Weight training is the #1 thing you can do to speed up your metabolism. It will make all the difference in your fat lose. I'm not just talking about your arms and chest. Train everything. In fact, your back and leg's contain more muscle mass, and by training them you will actually cause a larger shift in your metabolism.

OK school starts in a week and a half and i will apply for membership at there gym. I ment to say i work out my upper body, including back, abs, chest, triceps biceps etc.

Sorry im not to advanced in the fitness world. I can't take steroids because i work the goverment that requires monthly drug test.

And i ment to say i didn't want to be "huge"( in a good way) , no disrespect to anyone just dont want to become a pro body builder. Just want to lose weight and gain some muscle.

And the protein, is it good or bad? I read only if its high protein? Is this going to help me get my body in shape but gain weight? or dosn't really matter and just is healthy?

Again sorry if im asking dumb questions, im really new to this and i will post pics from what i am now and hopefully what i will be in a month.

Thanks
tAnK

By the way, is there a website that could exactly show me what all these technical terms are? And what i should avoid and should intake! sorry for the double post! THNX
