very important question..regarding work out routine!! plz help

hey...I was juss wondering what is the best workout routine? what muscle groups should i work on through out the week and on what days????? I was once told not to work on our two big muscle groups in the same day...does this matter or was that man crazy??lol anyways please help me out thanks

what do you want to achieve with resistance training?
do you want to get bigger? stronger? faster? for a sport? health reasons? weightloss? what?

what is your previous experience?

what days can you work out?

will you be training at a gym?
