Mermaid's Log

My diet has been a shocker this past week. Anyway, I've already cooked up a storm for my meals this week so at least I'm prepared. Trying again.......

Wednesday October 26

I had a gyno appointment this morning so took advantage and went to the gym.

7.45am
30 mins HIIT cardio - treadmill

9.00am
Vinegar drink, multi, flax, zinc
1/2 cup oats (dry) cooked w/
1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water
1/2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp LSA
6 whites, 1 yolk

Had the appointment. Found out that I have to have surgery on Nov 21st - probably an overnighter. Kind of threw me for a loop, wasn't expecting it. Probably nothing serious but needs to be done. So I went into a bit of a funk and my meal timing went out the window.

12.00pm
Lo carb protein shake

2.00pm
10 almonds

4.30pm
4 prunes
10 almonds

Going to a friend's house for dinner and a girly chat. I need the chat but don't know what food she'll provide

She made baked fish which was layered with mushrooms, zucchini and onions. It was soooo good. Also had about 1/2 cup garlic mashed potatoes :p and 1/2 cup spinach. Not sure as to the fat added in cooking so will dispense with the macros for today.

Oh, also had two glasses white wine Well, it was a girly chat! ;) Felt much better afterward. And I log this as my rather early cheat meal for the week.
 
Thursday October 27

Took the day off from the gym. Not the best day for real food as I had a marathon of meetings - thought that had died down but no such luck.

Overslept - I miss my alarm (P)

8.00am
2 slices Performax bread
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup cottage cheese

Meeting - asked to do something extremely unethical though thankfully got it on email to cover my ass.

12.00pm
Lo Carb protein shake

Another worthless chatfest.

2.00pm
Protein bar

And again.

4.30pm
Lo carb protein shake

At this point, I'm actually missing real food. I could never be an astronaut.

7.00pm Business dinner
About 1 cup stir fried scallops
About 1 cup steamed white rice

No supps, not enough water and I have a real urge to go running.

12.00pm Finance Team Lunch Meeting - I was not prepared so had to eat:
3 pieces Ham, cheese and salad on Turkish flat bread
1 tbsp Olive Oil dressing

3.30pm
Lo carb protein shake

6.30pm Cardio and Abs
30 mins HIIT - treadmill
3 sets each crunches - forward, oblique, reverse

7.45pm
1 cup diced grilled chicken
1 cup FF refried beans
1 tbsp jalapenos, 1 tbsp taco sauce

1488 cals P:41 C:30 F:29 Fiber: 31g Water: 3 ltrs

My drinking friends called and asked me out to the local pub - I was so tempted - but said no. Staying in and watching Napoleon Dynamite instead. OMG, the egg scene. Ugh. Hoping that by not drinking tonight the weekend will be easier to get through.

Yeah, so why can't I do that all the time?

Protein shake

8.00am Legs and shoulders
Squats
Calf raises
One Legged press
DB Overhead press
DB Lateral raises
20 mins steady state cardio - bike

Great workout

9.30am
Homemade protein pancakes (they weren't good)
6 whites, 1 yolk

10.45am
Remedial massage

1.00pm
Grilled chicken tortilla
Tomatoes, tabbouleh, hummous, avocado

Went to the movies - just drank water - no popcorn or anything

Then bumpity bumpity bump. I'm on my own with P still away and I get bored so I ate for the sake of it. It's 5.30pm now and I feel so sick.

Not going to bitch about it anymore, it's my own fault/problem/thing to get over.

The good thing I've noticed this week is that more water IS a great help and I seem to make more progress when I do more cardio. (Cut out the crap food and I'd be doing really well). I'm going to keep up the cardio and just keep the weights to compound moves until I've lost more body fat. When I eat well, I miss the gym, when I hit the gym, I think I can cheat.

I get bored so I ate for the sake of it.

What's the answer to this.....? I know you know......

Stay Busy!!!! Clean the house, go for a walk, talk on the phone. Keep your hands busy doing something. Surf the net...something. Just keep moving. There are times when I go home and I'm so exhausted, but I know if I sit down, I'll be in trouble.
 
Let's just pass over the past couple of days and start again tomorrow. I've not been that bad but not been that good either :worried:

Funnily enough, my pants are more loose than before and people have commented so I can't ruin it now ;)

P comes home today - I didn't realize what a good influence he actually is for me.

So, see you tomorrow, back on it!

1 cup FF refried beans
1/2 cup cooked mushrooms - no fat

3.30pm
2 scoops protein powder mixed w/ water
1/2 cup strawberries
1oz raw almonds

6.30pm
4oz lean beef steak
2 cups mixed vegetables

1594 cals P:43 C:25 F:32 Fiber:34 Water 2 ltrs

Went to bed at 8pm. I was exhausted, so will hit gym hard tomorrow.
