Tried the 'EAS AdvantageEdge Carb Control Nutrition Bar'. The lemon cheesecake variety.
I liked it a lot. It is very sweet, even though no artificial sweeteners are listed in the ingredients.
Anyway, the nutrition facts claim 2.5 grams of carbs, 5 grams of fat, and 26 grams of protein.
Yet, the calories are listed as 210, with 45 coming from fat. So, that leaves 165 calories that must be coming from carbs and protein.
But, 2.5 grams of carbs would provide 10 calories, and 26 grams of protein would provide 104 calories. That would leave 51 'mystery' calories.
Anyway, it seems they attempt to explain the mystery with this notice on the label:
'Glycerine and oligofructose are included in the total calorie count, but are not included as carbohydrates'
wtf does that mean???
