Life Begins at 40!

OK let's see who's been keeping up this fitness lifestyle for more than a couple of years. Any brave souls that will admit to being over 40 and will post pics? Or comments from the "youth" of elite? (That's anyone under 40!)

My stats: 6', 200 lbs, 14% BF, 40 yrs old, 2-3 wt sessions per week, run 3 miles 3-4 times per week.

PS - I know I need leg work, believe it or not they are very powerful and I work the hell out of them. Genetics can be a bitch!

lookin' good, considering age.

it's not that difficult to get pumped up and keep a tiny waist when your're in your early 20's and natural test levels are spiking, and all you have to do is go to college and work out and buy juice with dad's money.

but it's a LOT more difficult in your late 30's and 40's when the natural aging cycle kicks in, and you have to work 50 hours a week, and your work out time is limited due to house, car and family priorities.

don't ask me how i know this!!

labor of love

thanks for the props! You're right about competing priorities, but I love working out, always have since I was a kid, so I always make time for it.

The only difficult part about getting older is the metabolism slow-down. You really pay the price when you cheat on your diet too much.

I've never used juice.

Looking Good

You look great,

I am 47 and have been working ouy for twenty years. I will ge a digital camera and post soon. I am 6"2, 215 at 16% BF. I was down to 195 @ 8% BF but the wife said I was to skinny. Keep up the good work, unless you are competing don't waorry about to much bulk.

m1: no need to tell him.

the pastor of our church used to work in the parable of the father and his son in his sermons at least twice a year:

when he was growing up, the teenage son thought his father to be the most ignorant, out of touch man that god had ever created. the son went to college out of state, married, started a family, and was transferred back to his home town.

he started talking to the "old man" about marriage, children, mortgages, life insurance, and life in general.

the son was suprised by how smart his dad had become in the time he was was away from him!
