Welcome to your opine bro but I would ask why bother with something that is gonna wreck your knees when something as good and ever so much better, i.e Front Squats is right there for you and are so much more in end with results?
To me its the same a bent back dead lifts. Lots of peeps do em yeah sure. But in the long run you know they gonna wreck you so why do em at all?

According to the surgeon that did my ACL replacement its not the going down all the way, its the extending the leg out until its straight and there is no bend in the knee that puts the preasure on the ligaments. She said if I must do extensions to do light weight and high reps, SLOWLY and only go to about 80% extension.
Lastly, part of my physical therapy for my acl replacement was leg extensions. Unfortunalely I was a dumb ass and didn't listen to her, my ego got the best of me as it does and I went heavy before my replacement too complete hold and it streched some. So guys please learn from us old less inteligent guys!
