leg drive

Ok, not to be dumb, but I don't quite understand how to get leg drive into flat bench.
I feel like when I push with my legs my ass comes off the bench.
What would be the proper way to push with out this happening?

Again, sorry for the dumb question.
 
heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy...........(ok i'm done):rolleyes: whats up brother.right before you take your hand off,come up on your shoulders(dig them into the bench)and start to push with your heels,when you blast off your chest that is when you really drive with the legs(heels),if your but is coming up then try moving your feet further in front of you.if they are too far underneath your butt will come up when you strain.hope i helped a little bit,bro:splat:
 
Basicall you wanna be on your heels whne you push. If you rass comes up move you rlegs out to the side where your ass wont come up but you'll still have leg drive. Good example is go to powermag online watch george Halbert bench a look where his legs are.
 
thanks man, i should probably throroughly read that, cause my leg drive is shit. I can lock out 205, but cant get 200 more than a few inches off my chest, cause im using all upper body on the lift... i may as well be sticking my legs straight up in the air, cause thats about how much use i can get with them

I tried all kinds of advice and all kinds of foot positions with my legs out. The results were mixed. Sometimes I would get leg drive and a lot more times I wouldn't get anything.

I then tried the rarely used techique of SQUEEZING MY INNER THIGHS INTO THE BENCH HARD! This will anchor you down very well and it can give you a lot of force if done right. And now I am working on arching out of that legs into bench position.

If legs out doesn't work for you try legs against the bench, it feels kind of like a decline somewhat.
