Intermittent fasting is sooooooooo underrated. I've been doing it for the last 2 years or so and it helps with so many things including maintaining lean body mass, losing body fat, insulin sensitivity, recovery, asthma etc. And Hugh Jackman does it as part of his regimen for getting into shape as Wolverine he follows the 16-8 approach I believe.
