and mhp does not = just soy...there is soy protein in there yes....about 25%...about 50%whey and another 25% cassein :rolleyes:

for 180lbs....you should be looking upwards over 3500 cals a day to add some weight on...

each meal should contain protein and carbs or healthy fats.

ie. grilled chicken and brown rice with green veggies

or lean beef with veggies

take a look at some other threads....tons of diets in here....but the one you have right now is just terrible to be honest....whole foods is the way to go.

I really don't think he needs to be worrying about lean cuts of beef if hes trying this serious to put weight on. Nor are low calorie meals like grilled chicken and brown rice gonna get his calories that high. Bro, think calories, and get them every hour and a half to two hours, calories of 3500-4000 for each day. GL
 
yeah i agree with you...that was my clean bulk diet. i told him to read some other threads and make up his own for us to critque...he obviously doesn't really have a good grip on dieting yet b/c he's drinking 5 shakes a day... so i used the basic examples. i also think he would gain on a clean bulk even if the cals were only 3000 b/c it sounds like he's only been using shakes instead of whole foods
 
You need protein and some real food!! Learn how to cook or you will spend a bundle trying to eat healthy on fast food. Damn fast food and healthy!! Looks stupid typeing those words together. LEARN HOW TO COOK
 
Get one of those portable grills and make chicken/steak/tuna sandwiches on whole grain breads and carry them with you. Add veggies. Eat 6 times a day.

Use some of that money you're saving and get some flax oil and/or fish oil supps. or some MCT. These are a good way to balance your diet and add more calories at the same time.
 
Using the fact that your a college guy as an excuse to eat bad its going to cut it. Im in my fourth year of college and I am able to make my diet work even while having a job, playing rugby, and taking 15 hours every semester. And like they said cut out all the shakes and crap and eat real food.

if you are a fourth year student, you most likely live in your own house or apartment, which makes it a fuckton easier to make your own food then being stuck in the dorms with no means to cook and stuck on a shitty meal plan.

if he is stuck on a meal plan, saying 'being in college' won't cut it isn't realistic. hes trying to gain weight, not shed bodyfat. just eat and lift is my suggestion until you can cook clean foods..

if you are near your parents house, go home on the weekends and cook as much food as you can, if not..well good luck. take advantage of what you can!
