I have a few questions about dropping calories

I am trying to drop around 20 to 30 lbs by summer and I need some advice. How many calories, carbs, and grams of fat should I have a day. I have also heard you can loose weight by having your drinking water cold, because your body burns calories for warming it to the tempeture it can use it. Is that a wise tail. Also do you burn more calories when your hot or cold. I have heard both, and i am wondering what you guys think. I should include I weigh 235 right now, lean I am around 190. I dont have the fastest metabolism. If anyone can help, thanks.

First, yes drinking cold water will burn calories. Someone on the anabolics board figured out it was around 20 calories per glass.

Personally, I don't like the low-carb diet, or any other fad diet out there. If you drop your calories below maintenance, you will lose weight, that simple. A good ratio to follow would be 40%protein/40%carb/20%fat, with most of your fat coming from healthy fats. Don't drop too much calories too quickly, or you'll lose a lot of muscle in the process. Slow and steady, shoot for losing 2 pounds a week. good luck
