I know lifting tears the micro fibers of the muscle. The lactic acid does leave quickly but, as I stated, it is not lactic acid that produces that feeling of soreness 24 to 48 hours following lifting.
You mention that catabolism leads to anabolism. THis is a little oversimplified, don´t you think? If not, why not just inject myself directly with cortisone and save money on a gym membership?
