Horrible pain on the inside of my forearms when doing any bicep curls. why??

I had that problem only recently in my left arm. The pain started in the wrist and went right to the elbow. When I lift the pain eases a little but when I release the bar or dumb, the pain stikes like a knife. I tried everything from icing, arthritius creams, wraps and massage but nothing helped. Went to doc, gave me pain killers which eased but still never healed. Then I just gave up lifting for two weeks, without even touching a single weight. Now I am back to lifting my normal weight with no pain.
It was tendonitius I had and rest cured it.

It is without a doubt tendonitis. Its a good sign that your overtrained. Now would be a good time for you to take about 1-2 weeks out of the gym. When you come back, the pain should be gone.

The same thing happens to me peridocially. Usually just rest is all that's required. Might try taking some ibuprofen while resting to help reduce the inflammation.

Well here's my experience w/it. Mine hurt for like 8 months before the pain got so bad I could no longer stand to lift. I had the opposite of tennis elbow it's called golfers elbow. It flet like a shin splint in my forearm. The doc put me on celebrex and I took 2 weeks off, I also wore forearms straps/braces. The celbrex worked for a while but, once I came off it started hurting again. I kept wearing the forearm straps for a few months. The pain would not go away so, I developed my own theory. I figured that my forearms were not strong enough to keep up with the rest of my body so I started doing a forearm workout twice a week to strenghten them. It hurt like hell at first but,a fter I got stronger the pain went away & hasn't been ack since, that was a year agao & I haven't even had to wear the braces. Could be coincidence but, either way I don't give a shit, I'm convinced that it worked. I think it was WilYumYum that was saying antiinflamatories aleviate the pain but, prolong the healing process. Due to the fact that the inflamation is there to heal the tendons.

While I have heard the theory on inflammation actually healing, I don't buy into that theory. Inflammation cannot be good for anything. It's like picking a scab on a cut and saying that picking it will make it heal better than to leave it alone. Irratations like this are not good for anything. Anti-Inflammatories are good for inflammation and I can only see them helping the healing process.

I cannot recommend working forearms to help with the pain. It will only make it worse and I'm surpised in your case that it worked but then again stranger things have happened. I would say with complete confidence that 95% of people would be better to take a full 7 to 10 says out of the gym for an injury like this. It will heal and build back up stronger next time.

The Celebrex did make the pain go away & I did take time off. My theory was that the strength training afterwards helped prevent it from coming back. It was coming back at least once a month. Now it's been a year since I started the foreamr training and it hasn't been back. I also started using wraps on heavy pulling movements. When mine was at it's worse, there was nothing I could do besides taking time off. The anti-inflamatory got me back in the gym quicker. I would definately not recommend trying to work through the pain, I worked with it for nearly 8 months & all it did was keep getting worse. I must say though, Celebrex was definately the best Anti- I've ever taken.

pain during curls

My inner forearms / elbows hurt a lot when I curl with a straight bar or do hammer curls. It has to do with my crappy genetics in that my elbows don't go up and down in a plane, they are crooked. If I pinch my elbows together as much as possible then I can curl with minimal pain. My suggestion is to also check your mechanics and motion as your joints may not lign up poorly like mine.
