okay, im about 10-12% bf right now. this is my problem: ive dieted to get a 6 pack and lose the body fat for about 6 months now. i eat totally clean and only buy good stuff from the grocery. my problem is that sometimes when im at work, or at home, my roomates or coworkers will bring in things like donuts, or cookies etc. i never eat any of this stuff at home, so when friends/coworkers bring it to eat and its free and its there, i cant help myself but to cheat a bit. lately i cant even control it. that cheat a bit has turned into total binges whenever that stuff is available. no matter how much i feel like shit afterwards, i cant control it. can someone PLEASE help me fix these cravings. i think its just that ive gone so long eating totally clean, that lately when this stuff is around i cant take it anymore. thanks in advance.

You need to work in SCHEDULED CONTROLLED cheat meals.

Your leptin levels are so low that you can't control yourself. Bring them back up and you'll gain some control back.

Completely avoid the situation..... DON'T go by their desks, DON'T go in the lunchroom, etc wherever the junk food is..... Get over the "If it's free it's for me" mentality of eating also.... Go for a walk outside around the building, or just thru the hallways, chew gum.....

Or think about the swollen, dismembered body of a racoon who got run over by a car in the desert covered with bugs or something equally gross.... it might actually help....

A lot of "dieting" or eating well is a mental game -- plus think of it as a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix....

Ephedrine HCL has left me with little or no appetite during my cut (although stomach shrinkage is certainly playing a part). I am not one who feels chemicals or supps are always required to meet one's goals, but if you need the extra help they are always there. Ephedrine can help, but dont make it a long term thing. Rely in WILLPOWER as was mentioned above. I just ask myself "What is this going to do FOR my body?" If the answer is anything short of incredible, I dont touch it!

How low is your carb daily carb intake?

What you are craving are basically sugars and simple carbs: It's your body way of telling you "I don't like to be run in this mode"... Daisy is right on, you have NO CHANCE whatsoever against an hormonal induced craving, no matter how much willpower you have. The only solution I have found for this is carb-up every 3 days and have controlled cheated MEALS (not days).

If your carbs are not THAT low you should not crave those things...

Other than that, find new coworkers. I bet there are a bunch of fat bastards... envy of your 10%bf is killing them and they are trying to bring you down...

(there is actually some truth in that last sentence, fat people feel better about themselves when they make the dieter fall off the wagon... bastards)

That's a really good point P..... my former coworkers were like that -- constantly negative about how I ate, etc, ask for advice -- Oh I can't do that! Don't let their negativity bring YOU down....

And try using a free site like www.fitday.com to track everything you eat....I've found myself that if my net carbs (carbs - fiber) are below 100g a day I get wicked cravings, etc.....

Also, try some new ways to cook old favorites.....see my "Recipe Thread!" sticky in the Women's Fitness Forum for some cool recipes.....
