Help! I'm becoming a post contest fat ass!

Hey guys,

My contest was this weekend, I placed 3rd in my division and will post pics this week.

My question is this...Sat night, Sun and Monday I ate like Hell! Now I am bloated beyond all recognition...even my hands are puffy! I went back to eating clean on Tuesday (i am SO sick of food!), but will take the rest of the week off from the gym to recover and relax. How much of what I ate will be stored a s fat and how much is simply water retention? What is the best way to get rid of this fluid?

Thanks!

Back from contest shape (low , low percent like 5%) you will gain back the fat pretty fast. Just like when you are morbidly obese you will lose it pretty fast. I am unsure of post competition eating habits - never competed.
I am sure though that some will recommend to eat like a pig to reward yourself. But that's not a good reward IMO. I would keep it clean, and I think it's important to get some "active" rest. Play ball, bust a few nuts , whatever. Don't be a fucking couch potato. Others can give you more specific info.

Yeah a HUGE congrats to you. And I can assure you that your body is in it's alltime most anabolic state post competition. So any bloating you experience for the next couple of weeks is mainly fluid and quite a lot of muscle provided you get back to the gym ASAP. You're body will think about storing fat in a few weeks time so enjoy the food while you can........As Blood drinker said don't be a couch spud.

Thats great that you placed so high!

I, however, would recommend to get your ass back in the gym! Trust me. I was down to 7% Bf this summer. I felt great and looked good. I figured I would reward myself before I went back to school by taking a week off and letting myself relax and eat whatever I wanted. NOT A GOOD IDEA. After a week of depression and feeling like a lard ass. I made up my mind that it just wasnt worth trading my body in for a food that just made me feel like sh*t anyways. Now, after 3 days in the gym, my lifts have suffered, I am not as strong, I feel weaker, and cannot do the same lifts that I would have pumped out before. I am pissed. I can see more fat on my body and notice it more often. I think about where I would be if I had just not done that. Now I have to make up for it.

Dont do what I did!
Get back in the gym, clean your diet, and you will thank yourself later!

first of all congragulations on your 3rd place finish in the contest!! as far as pigging out & feeling fat after dieting for such a long time I would say not to be so hard on youreself & look at it as a reward, live it up for a week& get back in the gym ,train hard & eat right but don't be so hard on youreself because of one bad week use it as a motivational tool for when you get back to the gym:D

Congrats on your placing!

Generally they say you can eat anything you want the night of your show and the day after, then get the hell back on the clean diet, slowly adding in carbs again. Anything sodium will make you bloat and carbs are a big shock to your system if you load.

A natural diuretic like dandelion root can help with the bloating - drink lots of water and get back in the gym - but don't go balls to the wall because your body probably wants to recover a little from the shock of all the pre-contest depletion, etc. Mostly just stay busy. You should be much less water retentive in a week or two.

Good luck!
