Good Supplement bars?

First what are you trying to do in your program. Gain weight and muscle or stay tone and trim and maintain your weight, lose weight?

We all know that to many carbs can turn into fat if not used up. Personally I get enough carbs in my meals and don't need them in my bars that I eat.

Carbs get into your blood stream and get stored and turn into FAT!!! If you don't burn them up. I personally have a high protein diet and very low carb diet. I try to get things in me without taking to much carbs.

After working out I do take a protien shake that has about 30 grams of carb, thats only after working out of course.

Got to remember pasta, bread have many carbs. Also if you look at the side of a drink like "Snapple" for example that is a terrible thing to be taking. You have about 32 grams of carb, which all is "Sugar" which is 32 grams of sugar and no protein!!!

You should look at the protein of a content you are about to eat, and take 20% of the protein and look at the sugar. So if the protein says 40 grams of protein than your sugar should be no more than 20 grams of sugar. You should always take a protein when eating carbs. That helps you keep you at 6 meals a day and eating every 2 to 3 hours.

im sorry, but im still new to alot of this...

im getting the idea carbs are bad? but my Nlarge2 ha alot of carbs in it...

also..i was doing some biology..and i read that simple carbs are bad, but complex are good? whats in the nlarge2 and bars?

ive got a SNC catalogue here..it looks like "Myoplex Deluxe" or "Met-Rx Protein Plus" are the best 2 bars...

anyone used them? are they good?

Thanks

In general what you wrote on carbs is true. NLarge is a good gainer though, because all the sugar is fructose, which doesn't spike your blood sugar too much.

I'd stay away from the Myo deluxe bars because they are loaded with over 40 grams of sugar (not fructose).
The Met-RX are okay.
I tend to stay away from Met-RX products because they toss in way too much calcium. When I was using their MRPs, I was getting 4 grams + of calcium. I'm lucky I didn't get any stones.

Take some pita bread, stuff it with ground turkey and throw it in a sandwich bag. All good for a third of the price. Piss on all those glorified candy bars laced with multi-vitamins.

Personally I like the Promax bars. Yes they have a lot of sugar, but I only eat one/day immediately after my workout. I drive 25 minutes to the gym, so they are a quick, cheap, and easy way to get my post workout carbs without waiting until I get home. The 20g of protein post workout are nice too. I also like to take 500mg ALA with the Promax bar to help move the carbs. If I wanted to use them for a snack or meal replacement, then I'd look for something else.
