Getting Salty

My training partner constantly gets on my back about how much sodium I eat and that it should be one of the primary concerns of my diet. I don't eat an abundance of sodium by any stretch of the imagination, my only real sources are the 1/2-1c of cottage chse I eat per day, anpb on occasion, and hot sauces. I don't add salt to anything and nearly everything I eat comes from whole food sources, ie. lean protein and vegetables. I am currently cutting but don't plan to be at my absolute leanest until about the second week of July. Should I really lend that much consideration to restricting my sodium intake at this time? Thanks for any insight provided

Shit I dunno.. I got this from here.

"Bottom line: "This study provides yet more evidence that Americans should be careful about their daily salt intake," said NHLBI Director Dr. Claude Lenfant. Because there is no easy way to test for salt sensitivity, it's advisable for all Americans --even those with normal blood pressure-- to follow the Federal recommendation of having no more than 2,400 milligrams of sodium a day."

I eat similarly to you but I get around 3700mg a day. I don't know what I'm doing wrong either.

"Increased risk of death...." That does not sound healthy, maybe I will ease up on the Chipotle Tabasco Thanks for the info
