Funniest/Stupidest advice you hear at the gym???

Some stick figure at the YMCA was lecturing my 14 year old impressionable brother on how to get the most out of pulldowns, you have to go behind the neck and try as hard as you can to get your shoulder blades to touch, he then did a set and it grossed me out how close he actually came to doing this.
 
So your working out with "rubber bands?" is that kinda like using a bowflex?????

box squatting is easier than regular squatting because you get a break in the middle of the set and you get something to push off against.

concentration curls bring out your peak in the bicep.

were a belt at all times to help build a strong back.

bench shirts double whatever your max is so do be impressed by those fat powerlifters big numbers.

I heard today that close grip bench will develop my chest better than moderate or wide grip.
 
My Coach once told me not to lift weights over my head b/c it will hurt me.. thats interesting considering iam a Olympic weightlifter. The same coachs that told me that doing deadlifts would make me slower b/c i would gain to much mass in my legs.. funny how Olympic lifting has the lowest injury rate per 100hrs or 1000hrs practiced..even lower then powerlifting and bodybuilding.

I think this one tops it.. i had a friend that is a Strength Coach that had trained at the Olympic center in Co. was in a gym one day doing high pulls and the personal trainer walked over and preceeded to tell him he was doing his "up right rows incorrectly".
