For those of you that don't read the diet forum...

Its great you found something that works for you. I regret the fact that I can't do low carb. I lose tons of weight on low carb, but I always gain 2x as much back as when I started. When I was a teenager I weighed 210 and did low carb, got to 185 and when I went off shot to 260. Then I tried again, lost 7 pounds and gained 20. After that I realized 'alright, no more low carbing for me', had I kept it up I might weigh 400 by now. Low fat diets don't cause that kind of weight rebound though.

You should eat fruit though, there are tons of health benefits to eating fruit.

yeah, thats the thing about weight loss, if you dont do it right, rebound can be a problem. the human body has this wonderful little survival mechanism thats tough to beat.

although i think everybody rebounds some when they go on a diet and get real lean.

The rebounds on low carb are horrid for me. I can lose weight with low fat or low calorie and end up right where I started. However if I lose with low carb I gain back 2-3 lbs for every 1 I lost. Had I never touched a low carb diet it is unlikely that I would've ever weighed more than 215. Comically, low carb is the only thing that can get me below 20%, I can get to 12% or less on it. Low fat/calorie only gets me down to 20-25%.

dang, it sounds like you have a hard time losing weight. do you think its because of self control, or because of just the way you are made (like your body just wants to be bigger)?

I'm an endo/mesomorph by nature. I've always had more bodyfat & muscle than 90-95% of people, for as long as I can remember. Right now I'm 280 and maybe 29%. I could get down to 260 and 25%, but I don't see any need to do that unless my new training regimin causes me to gain too much muscle and I need to lose some fat to avoid getting too heavy (310 or so).

With drugs and a low calorie diet I can probably get down to 235 but I doubt much lower than that.

ahh ok. Yeah, its definately harder to lose weight if you are an endo/meso. so when you diet down, is it just hard to avoid eating more again later?

I've always wondered if that falls in the area of self control, or in the area of the body fighting back.

I know how much it sucks to cut lower than your body wants. I lost 15 lbs, and regained like 25 back in highschool, it sucked, lol.

theres a diet board? :worried:

It is like a curve, the more weight I lose the harder it is to lose more. Getting down to 260 or 26% isn't that hard, but anything below that I have a major problem with. I think it is just the body fighting back, the more your body thinks something is wrong the harder it'll fight back to rectify the situation.

Taking diet tips from someone who wouldn't know a weight problem if he tried
